IBC Finland follows the Triple Helix model of innovation. This approach brings together companies, universities, non-profit research organizations, and public authorities to accelerate sustainable growth and innovation in industrial biotechnology. Our core network consists of leading industrial companies, universities, and research institutions, working collaboratively to develop and scale bio-based solutions for diverse value chains. Through our close partnership with Finnish Bioindustries (Suomen Bioteollisuus), we strengthen the national bioeconomy ecosystem and foster international collaboration opportunities.
The public sector plays a key enabling role in our activities. IBC Finland maintains active collaboration with Business Finland, the national innovation funding agency, supporting the development and funding of joint innovation projects. In addition, we engage in a continuous dialogue with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, ensuring alignment with national strategies, regulatory frameworks, and long-term policy objectives.
Our services include public events that bring together key stakeholders across the bioeconomy value chains. We facilitate project ideation and pitching sessions to support the development of new collaborative initiatives and EU-funded projects. In addition, we offer matchmaking activities to connect industry, research, and public sector partners, as well as insight sessions that share regulatory knowledge and support dialogue to help shape favourable policy and innovation frameworks.
